About This Rift:

In this universe, A company by the name of GENO, (Genetic Experimentation of Natural Selected Organisms) is a well-known pharmaceutical company that has made medical advancements in curing various illnesses as well as actively curing cancers. Making them about as dangerous as a common cold. What seemed like a straightforward modern medicine company had a very, very dark secret. On the surface, their genetic experimentation was to cure and help people.
But behind their sterile offices, and labs, something sinister was going on. A scientist of GENO by the name of Dr.Luna had worked in secret on cross-species genetics. But it didn’t stop there. They used terminally ill patients to carry out their less-than humane experimentation to see if they could take the best parts of an animal, and give it to a human. There was a first batch of subjects (10) but only subject 8 survived, Dubbed: Widow. But before Dr.Luna could convince the board of GENO to fully support the research. There was a coordinated attack on every major GENO facility in every Major And minor City by a group of rouge GENO agents.
The point of the attack was to prevent and hopefully stop the research of cross-species genetics. However, due to poor handling of the volatile and rather unstable serum, they accidentally released it plunging the earth into a coma where for the next few years people and animals exposed to the serum underwent mutations.
When the world slowly, almost agonizingly woke up from their coma, many of the people discovered they had mutations, Some mutations killed the host while others struggled to survive with their mutations. Some while physically sound, mentally had snapped and become mindless feral creatures, typically referred to as "Ferals"
Various GENO operatives hunt and capture people should their genetics be deemed "Worthy" of research. And of the last year, GENO has released creatures, known as "GENO Freaks" by the surviving humanity, that are genetically engineered to be hostile to any living creature, a test of sorts to see how the surviving humanity would respond to mutated threats. these creatures are much more hostile than regular Ferals, faster and stronger. eating human flesh to continue mutating.

About This Rift:

In this gritty, modern-day New York universe, the criminal underworld essentially controls the city, making power and influence the ultimate currency. Two dominant crime families, The Syndicate and The Castillo Gang, wield significant power through their involvement in various illegal activities, from drug trafficking to political corruption.
The Syndicate, led by an unknown figure called Snake, operates primarily in Los Angeles but has a substantial presence in New York. Meanwhile, the Castillo Gang, headed by Nathaniel (Nate) and his twin brother Alexander (Alex), reigns supreme on the East Coast.
Both gangs are known for their sophisticated attire, with members wearing tailored suits and distinctive tattoos (a gold compass for The Syndicate and a single diamond earring for The Castillo Gang). In this cutthroat world, getting one's hands dirty is a necessity for gaining power. The Wraiths, an elite mercenary group composed of former military personnel, are hired for high-stakes, dangerous jobs and are recognized by their black and gray camouflage uniforms featuring a ghostly skull insignia.
Then there are the notorious figures like Jason Callahan, a renowned CIA agent known for his unorthodox methods of working with criminals to solve cases.
This universe is a dangerous and unforgiving place where violence, corruption, and the relentless pursuit of power are the norm. It's a world where the line between justice and crime is often blurred, and survival depends on one's ability to navigate and manipulate the treacherous landscape of the underworld. Castillo Gang

The Castillo gang primarily runs out of New York. Owning most of the East Coast. They have an estate located in Upstate New York. However, business primarily occurs in the heart of New York. Typically Manhattan.The Gang has a strict moral code, while they kill and deal in shady merchandise. The gang does not engage in human trafficking or use innocent lives for personal gain. Oftentimes, when the Castillo gang is made aware that there’s human trafficking happening within their territory, they are quick to intervene and often escort the victims back to their homes.Because of this, the Castillo gang is not only feared but also heavily respected. The Mob boss of this gang is Nathaniel Castillo. His twin brother, Alexander Castillo, is his right-hand man. The twins are carving a ruthless reputation for themselves as leaders, while adding a gentleman's touch to the gang itself.

Syndicate Gang

The Syndicate gang is ruthless in all means. If they can use it as leverage, they will. Primarily working out of the West Coast. Despite this, though, they have often prodded the East Coast to test at the Castillo gang’s territories. Often met with hostile retaliation.While never being able to get a solid foothold in the heart of New York, the Syndicate does manage to undermine the Castillo gang, often trying to steal deals and product from any and every big-time or small-time gang.

Wraiths Team

The Wraiths aren’t a gang per se. They are a group of ex-military who were hired by Albert as a ghost team. Their primary function is to disrupt and eliminate threats. This is done with Albert's reputation as a rich philanthropist, letting him gain intel from events he hosts and attends.Albert keeps his reputation and the Wraiths far from each other, ensuring that the Wraiths aren't tied to him in any way, keeping the Ghost-like reputation the team has with just… Knowing things.Surprisingly, the Castillo gang allows the Wraiths to operate within New York with light protection. At times, even giving them intel on smaller gangs.

About This Rift:

Crestfall University is one of the biggest universities for humans and demi-humans alike. Located in Westchester, New York, Crestfall welcomes all students of all species to their campus. From Humans, Vampires, Werewolves, Elves, fairies, and so many more, Crestfall brings education to all, letting students major in various areas within the college.
Vampires are primary apex predators; their status and wealth often have them prioritized within the campus. Werewolves are arguably the second apex predators; all other species are typically harmonious with one another, with occasional friction between carnivores and herbivores.
Students within Crestfall are primarily 90% demihumans and 10% humans. Primarily focusing on the implementation of co-existing with all species, on top of having students study and major in their selected subjects.
Vampires remain alive until they are about 100 years old, during which this timeframe they have a pulse, heartbeat, and warm bodies. Their reproductive organs work the entire time they are alive; Should they have kids while alive, their offspring are called “Pure Blood”. Once they become undead, they will no longer have a heartbeat and will remain cool to the touch. Vampires can go out in the sun, but often get migraines due to their sensitivities to light. Which is why they prefer nighttime activities, or will often be seen wearing sunglasses.
Werewolves turn into four-legged wolves once a month, for an entire night. They often revert to their baser instincts, but can identify friends and family. Werewolves typically have higher stamina and are considered much more energetic than most species. They often have a bad reputation of being feral despite rare occurrences of feral werewolf attacks. They get along well with other species besides vampires.

About This Rift:

In this medieval world of the Sylvan Spire. The lands are covered with magical forests, cursed caves, all harboring Mystical creatures and demihumans. Humans within the lands, for the most part, live in harmony with the creatures and demihumans.
The Arodorath kingdom, predominantly known for its love for all creatures and species, welcomes them from humans, to elves, werewolves, vampires, fairies, dragons, phoenixes, and so many other creatures. They are all welcome and protected in the kingdom.
However, the Kand Kingdom does not share the same ideologies as the Arodorath Kingdom. Believing that Humans should be the only species with abilities and gifts. And that all other species are beneath them. This has led the Kand Kingdom to not only oppress the demihumans and creatures, but to also use them as laborers. Often subjecting they to slavery.
These differences between the kingdoms have led to centuries of friction and wars. But after the most recent war that the Arodorath kingdom had won, Obsidian, a mystical dragon, awoke from his slumber, guarding the Sylvan Spire and its inhabitants, ensuring another war isn’t provoked. Obsidian Is a well-known dragon whose scales are black like the void. And is loved by the Arodorath kingdom, and feared by the Kand Kingdom.

When provoked he has been known to level towns in order to teach a lesson about disrespecting him.

Here, humans rule, bleed, and thrive—mythical creatures kneel. Elves? Muzzled scribes. Minotaurs? Chained laborers. Merfolk? Drowned in their own rivers to power Kand’s enchantments. The kingdom’s Obsidian Throne decrees that magic is a human birthright, all others—tools or prey.
Streets gleam not with unity, but suppressed silence. The Frostgard Legion patrols in wolf-pelt cloaks, their swords sheathed in spellfrost, ready to flay wings from fae or shackle dragonkin into forging their weapons. Magic? Stolen. Through collars. Through rituals. Through breaking bones until a nymph’s screams power their wards. Even the snow refuses to melt here—tainted by convictions colder than winter.

Whiterose

Where Arodorath roars with conviction and Kand strangles dissent beneath its boots, Whiterose breathes in the space between—a fragile hope wrapped in thorns.
Banners of a lone white rose flutter above its budding cities—neither aflame like Arodorath’s phoenix nor jagged like Kand’s frozen blades. Humans and creatures walk together in cautious harmony, trading in sunlit plazas where street vendors and satyr merchants barter for goods under the wary gaze of the Petalwatch—a militia of humans and the equally divided in their loyalty. Some dream of Arodorath’s unity. Others fear Kand’s retribution if Whiterose grows too bold.
The nobility speak of equality, but hesitate at the threshold of action. The young Queen rules not with an iron fist, but with hands still learning their grip. Some nights, she dines with elven ambassadors while her advisors whisper: "Will she bend to Kand’s threats?" Some nights, she walks the slums where a battered werewolf blacksmith grips her wrist and growls, "Prove you’re different."
Here, alliances are not yet ironclad—they’re petals on the wind. Whiterose trades openly with Arodorath, but when Kand’s emissaries come demanding tribute—silver, or slaves—she hesitates. She bargains. She blinks. The people see it. The creatures feel it.
This kingdom’s heart beats, but its pulse is erratic. Some say rebellion simmers among the non-humans impatient for progress. Others pray to forgotten gods that the queenfinds her spine before Kand finds her borders.

Celestara

The Celestara kingdom is a beautiful, deadly, and unapologetically protective kingdom of its people. Ruthless like the Kand kingdom, they would not hesitate to raze villages to ensure the safe peace of their kingdom.
With their fierce belief in equality of all species, they protect all those who seek shelter within their walls. But they also defend said laws just as harshly. This often leads to public executions or other means of making an example of those who disrespect the Kingdom's home.
Their relationship with the Kand kingdom is openly volatile. Celestara openly accepts refugees, but executes any spies posing as refugees without hesitation. While there’s no war between them as of now, tensions remain between both kingdoms.
Their relationship with the Arodorath kingdom is steady but at times testy, while they both morally believe in equality for co-existing, their disagreements stem from how they invoke retaliation. So while they have steady agreements and trade resources to benefit one another, when it comes to war meetings, things can simmer before they come to a real agreement on anything.
